TOI, TOI, TOI

It's a 32 '' loop that combines motion graphics and timelapse video.
The central themes are time, the importance of pursuing your own goals, the difficulties that prevent us from seeing clearly and in perspective. The contrasts, the opposites that coexist in everyday life. The central message is a simple wish: "Oh Happy, Naughty Day". Who would not want a happily naughty day, or naughty happy day?
Than the title: TOI, TOI, TOI. Break a leg, as we wish to artists before a show.*
Even in life, after all, a little luck does not hurt.

TOI, TOI, TOI is part of Typeline video installation on show at MAMbo Museum of Modern Art (foyer), Bologna, 16th February/10th March 2019
Typeline is a video installation dedicated to dynamic typography that makes movement and time its main axes.
The sequence of the 8 selected works is a result of an international call for artists and designers held by Griffo, The Great Gala of Letters.
This video collection illustrates how the everyday-ordinary matter of letters, taken for granted by most of us, produces such a vast range of actions, operations and worlds, floating between art and design.
Typeline is a project by Griffo, The Great Gala of Letters. Curated by Roberto Paci Dalò and Dina&Solomon. Produced by Dina&Solomon, Giardini Pensili. In collaboration with Istituzione Bologna Musei / MAMbo - Museum of Modern Art, Bologna and Unirsm Design - Università degli Studi della Repubblica di San Marino

Many, many thanks (with all my heart!) to Francesco Agostini, who "loan" me the timelapse video, to Ale – the one and only – for encouraging and supporting me, patiently, and last but not least, to the Utrecht Early Music team, for having (unconsciously) inspired the concept of the video.

* The video is a personal reflection on the theme of a commissioned project (Oude Muziek Festival, Utrecht, 2018). Hence the title and the references to music and entertainment.
