Carpe Diem (Seize the day)

Is it worth it to "CARPERE DIEM"? Or perhaps, "perché no?" (Why not?) Some projects end up revealing more
about me than I ever expected, often much more than I'd want them to. It's not something I plan;
it just kind of happens, and suddenly they turn into "from-the-heart creations."
Wunderkammer Festival 2023 is definitely one of those projects.
Is it visual design, a "work of art," or a performance?

I reached out to Paola Erdas, the Artistic Director of Wunderkammer Festival, and asked her to craft
five sentences that answer that intriguing question. Then, we asked the artists taking part in the 2023 Edition
to do the same. And when I turned the same question inward, I discovered way more than just five
good reasons to seize the day.

It's about food, love, happiness, time, that feeling of being truly alive, and above all, it's about MUSIC.
I took all these answers and put them down on paper, adding doodles and emojis, turning them into
typographic art.

Every layout is pretty much handmade, to keep me in the moment. It took me weeks to finalize the layout
because I kept changing my mind! Drawing on different days, even in different moods, gave me different results.
The letters might look kinda similar, but they've got their own quirks. Proportions might seem alike, but they're
subtly different, and the weight of each character carries its unique touch.

This way, I focused on time and on the creative process. Handwriting and drawing took me way longer
than just using a computer, but it let me pay attention not just to the end result but to the whole journey.
I embraced imperfections and celebrated the human touch that comes with handwriting.
