FICCIONES TYPOGRAFIKA n. 537-539 (24”x36”)
25 June 2014, Minneapolis, USA
A project by Erik Brandt
Many thanks to Erik Brand to create and to curate this amazing project with professionalism, passion and kindness!
Ficciones Typografika is a project dedicated to typographic exploration in a public space in Minneapolis. It is curated by Erik Brandt. The exhibition surface is a poster board which can host three posters at the same time.
Light on - Light off is a metaphor of think (or not), act (or not), decide (or not), discover (or not), love (or not)… The background is a composition made with the letters of the word “light”, mixing and matching different characters. Letters are designed as they were made of neon lights. The challenge was to design neon lights only using black and white, ink and paper. The round shapes represent the letter “O” and contain an “N” or an “FF”, to explicit the title of the poster: light on - light off. I designed letters “N” and “FF”, starting from a serif font and mixing it with geometrical shapes.
